What MacGames does for it.

Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced (GTA 5) is a Windows game. MacGames brings the parts it needs to run on a Mac, and sets them up for you.

A newer engine
GTA V gets Wine 11.13 with Apple's D3DMetal 4.0, in an environment of its own.
The driver warning is answered
The game asks for an AMD driver that cannot exist under Apple's graphics layer. MacGames closes that warning for you.
Story mode
The game starts without BattlEye, so story mode works.
A Rockstar Games Launcher that works
The launcher draws through Wine's own renderer, while the game uses D3DMetal.
